For safety reasons and to keep streets accessible for fire and safety vehicles, planters have been removed from the Noe Slow Street roadway that had been placed near the Slow Street signages. These planters have now joined the other beautiful sidewalk planters that grace Noe Street.

SFMTA Slow Streets Program initiated this change following a request from the San Francisco Fire Department that roadway planters be removed after the recent three alarm Noe Street fire.
