1906 Earthquake Anniversary Ceremony

  • Lotta's Fountain at Kearney and Market Streets; then Golden Hydrant at 20th and Church Streets

After the introduction of the Mayor, Fire Chief, and Police Chief, sirens will blare at 05:12 AM, the time of the 1906 earthquake, followed by singing "San Francisco."

At about 05:50AM, repainting the Golden Hydrant at 20th and Church Streets which is said to have been the sole source of water used to save the south side of the Mission District from the 1906 fire.
