Tree Planting in the Triangle

Public Works sponsoring the next Love Our City Neighborhood Beautification Day,

Volunteers will join Bureau of Urban Forestry landscape crews and Public Works’ Community Engagement Bureau to plant new trees, remove weeds, litter and graffiti, and spruce up sidewalk gardens throughout District 8.

There will be 7-10 worksites where volunteers will garden, mulch, pick up litter, or abate graffiti. The projects and tasks will be different, depending on the site and community group's requests. This event will happen rain-or-shine.

What to Expect

  • The event kicks off at James Lick Middle School yard,  4161-25th St., with registration between 8:30 AM and 9 AM.
  • There will a short speaking program to go over the day’s activities and get a quick safety overview.
  • Volunteers and Public Works staff then will head to their assigned work sites.
  • Work will take place for about 3 hours, with everyone returning to the kickoff location around noon.

What to Wear/Bring

  • Dress in layers
  • Wear closed toe shoes and sunscreen
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
