Contract 66 New Traffic Signals project will construct signals and associated pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Castro-Divisadero-Waller Streets. The intersection improvements were approved by the SFMTA Board of Directors last December and the project has advanced to the design phase. The design is currently 30% complete and the design effort will continue through mid-2024. Jarrett Hornbostel is the associate engineer overseeing the project and can answer any questions related to the work.

The Upper Market Safety Project is winding down with striping restoration slated for later this month into June and a final push of other upgrades at Market/Octavia.

Planning expects to conduct additional data collection and a "lite" evaluation of the project's changes. Team member Elliot Goodrich will be helping staff this effort and will take into consideration how the Project’s changes might have influenced travel patterns/volumes on adjacent streets. The project could possibly fund 15th/Noe Street crosswalk upgrades on a separate timeline. Consideration of any Beaver/Noe Street crosswalk upgrades will require a new evaluation.
